Jesus is a friend of mine, the best I ever had,

I found him again, right at a time of life when things were really bad,

I had known him as a little child; but I had let him go,

He always stayed by my side, but he had never let me know,

Years ago he began, to whisper right inside my ear,

the plan that God had for my life; it was all so very clear,

On the other hand there was Satan, he also had a plan

If he could only tempt me; things would be real grand,

He knew some family history so he tried to give me drugs;

But Jesus stood strongly by my side; so to that option; I was smug,

Then he tried to give me alcohol and drive me out my mind,

But Jesus taught me right from wrong and I was loosened from that bind,

Then he sent some friends luring me to gambling; they said it could make me rich,

Then Jesus came and showed me that it could only put me in a fix,

So Satan decided; I’d better kill her with a tumor on the brain,

But Jesus came and healed me; and Satan lost again…

Then Satan got ticked off; and struck and struck some more,

I started to think about it and then I got really sore,

I decided to get close to Jesus and execute those plans for me,

After all my sins were saved… when he got up on that tree,

I said: Lord, Lord ..where oh where were you?

He said: “my loving child, I never left your side, I always thought you knew!

The Biggest “Lie” They Ever Told! by Elaine Davenport (Tuesday, April 1, 2008)

There are people who cannot believe that Jesus was the Son of God. For years, they denied that he was of any importance at all. Some of those same groups; now acknowledge his existence. They say now: “We know about Jesus, he was a great prophet. Yet other groups say: “We believe that and we acknowledge that Jesus heals.”

Jesus Lives. Jesus Heals. Jesus Guides us. We have Faith in Him.

I remember that I was a very young girl and I went to the front door on Christmas Day because The Jehovah’s Witnesses were at the door and my father told me to go and tell them that it was Christmas.

I did as I was told. The lady responded in a smug manner and said: “Oh we don’t believe in Christmas!”

“You don’t believe in Jesus?” I said.

“No” the lady replied.

“Tell her that we do and shut the door” my father yelled.

She heard him and I did as I was told.

Over the years, they progressed and the last Jehovah’s Witness that stopped me said: “We believe in Jesus. He was a great prophet.” She didn’t believe in healing and didn’t want prayer.

Jesus is not what “they say he is. It’s a lie that Jesus is merely a prophet. If you’ll notice, I don’t talk about their “other” beliefs. I only talk about my own. That’s all that is important to me.

* About fourteen years ago; my friend Jerry asked me if I was born again. “What does that mean?” I confessed to her. We were in church at the time. I felt really stupid. I knew all about the pastor’s week at church, but I didn’t know this concept. Jerry told me that it meant that I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I felt relieved. “Yeah, I guess I am.” I smiled.

We can go to church and hear so much stuff but we ought to be able to tell people what we believe. After that conversation with my friend; I took a journey which also led me to a Bible teaching church and I found out a lot more. Let me explain that my old church was not at fault for my lack of knowledge; I take all of the blame. It was there that I learned what faith was.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE BORN AGAIN?

Being born again involves a change on the inside of you. It can be “seen” by people who know you and those who don’t. The love of God permeates your whole being. You’re not just nice to the people at your church; you’re just a nice person. There is no sinning in you. You know that Jesus was sent by the Father to pay the penalty for our sin and that penalty was death on the cross. You also know that Jesus rose from the grave on the 3rd day and is now seated at the right hand of the Father as your great high priest who makes intercession for you.

As a born again believer; you don’t just know all of this, but your life is committed to God. Jesus said that he and the Father are One. Your church, your friends, your scripture quoting, your service in the church, or good deeds can’t get you eternal life; though a lot of people in the world may think this. It’s a myth! It’s receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Master and believing on His Name.

A born again believer is automatically in right standing with God; but practices to stay that way by making a daily effort to keep the commandments; putting God first in his or her lives.

God’s Commandments are simple in the New Testament:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart (Mt 22:37-40)

Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Our standards are different as born again believers. We don’t follow the world’s way of doing things with money (getting into debt), politics, (upholding those who don’t hold to Christian values even when they are popular), social mores, (people who live by what is acceptable to the world, but not to God) and so forth. Our lifestyle is dictated by what pleases God Almighty.

HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN

Romans 10: 9, 10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the mouth confession is made to salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Romans 10: 13 For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

God won’t turn you away. God loves you.

JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD! Breaking News!

HALLELUJAH! PRAISE THE LORD! WE HAVE REASON TO CELEBRATE! OH YEAH!

What separates Christianity from ALL of the other religions? So much! But, it can all be answered in one word: Love.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall be saved and have everlasting life. John 3: 16

We have a Savior. There is no other religion, faith, group or belief that can offer you everlasting life. There is no other messenger, prophet or leader that died and came back. I don’t have to name them. I don’t have to. If you’re reading this…think about it.

Now, there’s an Obituary of Jesus that goes around the Internet. And a lot of people like it. It’s a Blessed story but the most important part is missing as Christians who mean no harm are circulating it and I don’t know who else. It fails to say that Jesus rose from the dead. That is why you are healed, saved and delivered!

Here are some scriptures that prove what happened right after Jesus was buried and the women went to check on him at the grave site:

MATTHEW 28:2-7 NKJ

2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
6 “He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 “And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”

So while the obituary tells the truth it leaves out an important part….it’s a notice of his death…but we have notice that He lives! If you receive it; please pass that part on as well.
