We all look to the new year’s for a fresh start.  But, the truth of the matter is a really fresh start is a life where you make Jesus your personal Lord and Savior.

This is not “religious mumbo jumbo,” but it is true.  You don’t believe me…try this…say a prayer…

Dear God, please show me if you are real and I will believe it.  Show me how to change my life for the better, show me how to have peace and no fear for Christ‘s sake.  Amen

Let’s look at some Salvation scriptures:

But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the blood of Christ have been brought near.
Ephesians 2: 1

And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities, yet now has [Christ, the Messiah] reconciled [you to God] in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you holy and faultless and irreproachable in His [the Father's] presence. Colossians 1: 21-22

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now Your word do I keep [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it]. Psalm 119: 67

It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.
Psalm 119: 71

Come to Him [then, to that] Living Stone which men tried and threw away, but which is chosen [and] precious in God’s sight.
1 Peter 2: 4

Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them. Hebrews 7: 25

For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.

I was so empty before I took God on.  You know, I’ll admit that I knew about Jesus as a child.   Nobody in my family was sold out for God; not even me…as a result…the fire never burned in me.  The emptiness took over.  Eventually whatever was there was pushed to the background.  I jumped back and forth between nothingness and being with God.  Nothingness won out for a long time.  Then, I got sick of it.  There had to be something better…so I ran to the light of God.  I re discovered the Christmas miracle.

I did not automatically get the fire.  Because of that, there really wasn’t too much to hold me.  I actually found the fire looking for something else from God!    All I can say is wowee!!!

MATT 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

My prayer for you today is that when you receive the Gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ; the door to heaven…that you will ask for the fire!   God will give it to you..if you ask! 

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” —Romans 10:9-13

I have been watching a great show on television!   It’s called “Person of Interest.”  The theme is about this guy who used to be Special Forces who was just drinking and walking around lost who gets recruited to be a vigilante to save the lives of intended victims…(or their intended victims). 

It’s a good show in theory. 

The “targeted” person is called the “person of interest.”  The hero played by Jim Caviezal (who played Jesus Christ in The Passion Of Christ) zones in to find out what’s going on and gets in a reverses the evil intentions of “whoever,” to save the person of interest.

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve

¹ When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, ² and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

COMMENT:The other day I was flipping through the TV channels and came across a talking shark who was bragging that he didn’t have to worry about losing a tooth because “I have ‘back up’ rows of teeth thanks to EVOLUTION!” The enemy certainly wants to scramble the minds of our children with deception at a very early age. I’ve heard it said that it is just as impossible that this world exists by chance as if there were an explosion in a print shop and as a consequence of the explosion out jumps an unabridged dictionary, alphabetically in order. In Romans 1:19,20 God tells us that He has revealed Himself through His creation. Well, a few years ago, we on the East Coast experienced one of God’s more phenomenal creations, the invasion of the cicadas. Every 17 years these 1 1/2 inch-long flying insects emerge from their holes in the ground intent on producing the next generation. (I think of these guys as the Rip Van Winkles of the Insect World.) The male goes wild with an irritating racket meant to woo the females. I guess they make all that noise because they are celebrating the cessation of seventeen years of celibacy. (Try saying that fast three times!) These cicadas give new meaning to the saying EVERY SHUT EYE AIN’T SLEEP AND EVERY GOOD-BYE AIN’T GONE!

Because she chose not to be selfish or scared when it came to ministering Salvation to others; many souls have been saved; and many ministries have been birthed! God targeted me and she obeyed!

Souls are waiting for Jesus The Christ!

²⁰Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

It is a really long story; but I am going to make it very very short.  I gave my heart to Jesus because I knew he was real.  I had known it since I was a little girl.  I wasn’t raised in a “religious”  or “spiritual” home; but I knew he was real.  God has loved me with an everlasting love all of my life!  He has shieded me,  answered my prayers, protected me, sent provision and Blessings, given me huge doses of mercy and grace.   I am moved to tears as I tell you that God has been a friend to me.  He has loved me unconditionally.  I never knew that my life could be this great!

If for any reason, these words are too complex…I got tired of trying to make it on my own; it wasn’t working and I wasn’t too dumb to admit it!   I am very humbled and thankful to be under God’s refuge!

I was raised in the church.  I went with my grandmother.  Unfortunately, after she went home to be with the Lord, I struggled.   I found myself trying to find the right place where I could spiritually grow.  My search took a long time.  God never gave up on me.  I finally found the right place for me. 

God rekindled the fire in me and I am so Blessed!  He did it in the midst of my nothingnesss;; He gave me new life!

Your family is waiting for you to say something to them. They’re expecting it! God needs someone to stand in the gap for your family to be saved and it’s going to have to be you. You’re going to have to examine yourself. Trust me that this is a faith builder; especially after you begin to see results. It’s not going to be your neighbor across the street and in many cases it won’t be them, so it’s going to have to be you. You’re not only going to have to pray, but also minister to them and in some cases bring them to Christ. You may not be able to get them to church; but you can bring them to Christ and let God do the rest.

You’ve got to get your mind off of you and on to them. You’ll be Blessed if you will do this.

Can you pass the faith test?

Well, I guess so you’re thinking; I never really thought about it! Exactly what do you mean? Is this a trick question?

Yes and No.

Smile.

Most people can pass the “Hope” test.

That is we all know how to hope for something.

However, most of us have trouble with waiting for what we can’t see.

Think about these common expressions that are cute but anti-faith statements if you are speaking about something you are believing God for.

TWO GREAT ONES COME TO MIND:

1. I’m from Missouri; you have to show me.
2. I have no delayed gratification (Or in other words: I can’t wait!)

#1 is like saying; I don’t believe in what I can’t see. What do you think about that?

#2 is like saying, it is impossible for me to trust anyone other than myself; so I’ll make it happen now.

So the test for us all is WILL WE BELIEVE GOD that because He says we have what we ask for if we believe, can we act like we have it!

The world says we don’t have it until we see it.

God says we have it at the exact time that we ask for it IF we believe it.

Do you believe God or the world?

THAT’S YOUR FAITH TEST!

People were very poor.  There wasn’t much to eat.   I had no family.  The government was in control.  It was a barbarian society; very frightening.  It seems that everyone was being apprehended….we were taken as prisoners.  They only wanted to know one thing:

“Would I take the mark of the beast.”  I admit that I never saw it but if I said “No,” I would be put to death.

Everytime, I would ultimately say:  “Yes.”  After all, I was a kid…I did not want to die even though life around m,e was pure hell!

I dreamed this dream 100 times or more.  At some point I did begin to go to church.   Then, I began to feel guilty.   I knew I wasn’t supposed to give in.   But…I was really in training.   You see, there would come many days when I would be tempted to do the unrightepus thing or deed…and I would say:  “No.”

There would come a day when I would understand faith and the Book of Revelations….and I know that I would never take the mark of the beast; God has given me an out; to be “caught up: in the rapture before the days of tribulation.

YOU SEE THAT DREAM WAS NO COINCIDENCE…IT WASN’T TOO MUCH PIZZA OR ICE CREAM; IT WAS TRAINING FOR LATER UNDERSTANDING.  THAT DREAM DREW ME TO SEARCH FOR THE ANSWER.  I KEPT THINKING THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY…AND THERE WAS!!!

If you have no knowledge of the rapture…read your bible …do some research…don’t be “Left Behind.”

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

There is no Atheist Salvation.   All they have to offer you is:

1. There is no God

2. Don’t go to church

3. Don’t read the bible

4. When you die…you got nothing

5. Try to build the ranks so you won’t be all alone.

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!   THESE PEOPLE NEED OUR PRAYERS QUITE SPECIFICALLY THAT JESUS WILL APPEAR TO THEM IN THEIR SLEEP AND WHEREVER THEY GO!   REMEMBER SAUL OF TAURSUS?

Over 200 million people have asked Google if Atheists are also Gay…that appears to be an untruth and I have no idea how that one got started.

If there’s one thing I know from studying the Word of God and being on the Internet; it’s that every single atheist has their own personal story related to their distance from God.   They are just people,  Some will insist that they are totally healthy, happy and whole; but that’s not all that there is to it.

It isn’t necessary for me to try to convert an atheist.   I know for a fact that many of them are very intelligent…which proves what a wonderful minister that I adore once said:   “God can’t talk to smart people.”  And no, for those of you who “think” you are smarties…this is not literal…it doesn’t mean that all believers are dumb…it means that according to the world’s standards…the really smart or so called wise people cannot hear from the heart.

But even though the bible written so long ago by holy men of God calls those who do not believe in God fools and warns us of the great deception…I  say that God can speak to the hearts of those who think theat they’ll drop dead one day and that will be the end.  Well, under pressure it seems that many are saying they do not know,

Would you subscribe to a service after asking a critical question and being told:  “I don’t know.”?   Well would you?

So, in conclusion the Atheist Salvation is a life free from spirituality, free from Christ and the things of God…what kind of life is that?

Few atheists know that a majority of Christians believe in a relationship…and not religion…somebody tell em.

The earth shook; the heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God; Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

Psalm 68: 8

I needed to make a phone call.  That was the only one recourse for me…I said a prayer:  “Father, please take this off of my heart.”  I remember saying how sorry I was for making such a mess of my finances.

That was August of 2000. I had supposed that I’d have more control when I went back or that I would cool it for awhile.  Instead, I never went back again.  God was cleaning me up.  He had bigger plans for me.  It wouldn’t be long before I found a great Bible teaching church, developed a prayer life, started a prayer group with friends, began to write about God on the Internet and begin to do the work of the ministry.  My life did a total revolution all because of God’s mercy.

Today, I ask you to examine yourself.  Is there anything that you would like to have cleared out of your life.   This is a good day to say a prayer.  God is not a feeling.  If you do not have a connection to God; know this:  He’s just waiting to have  a connection with you.  He wants to meet your every need.  He wants to spend time with you.  He wants to take your burdens from you.  He wants you to be healed, to have peace, to be wise, to be safe, to have no fear.  He wants to protect you…there is no one, nothing that can want your life to be better.

We’ve all missed the mark or sinned; but we have to admit it, not to the world; but to God:

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12)

“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10)

Jesus said: “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5)

I know that God sent His son Jesus to atone for our sins:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

We must acknowledge Christ as the master of our lufe:

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

We invite Jesus into our hearts to be our personal savior:

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)

I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and that he died  for my sins,  and  made available unto me  redemption,  sanctification, wisdom and right standing with God.   He paid the price with His blood.  I invite the Lord Jesus into my heart right now and I accept him as the Lord of my life to be my personal savior.

What’s Next?

If you’re like me…you will need direction.  Develop a prayer life and get a good bible with a great reference section and start reading it.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:105)

If you do not have a church home that is teaching you ; pray and ask God to send you one.

Then…

pray about everything that comes up.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:6)

Always REmember:

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:16)

And most importantly:  Tell others about Christ:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)

Daniel 4:35

In 1812 Napoleon proposed to invade Russia and bring its people under his control. When the plans were laid out, someone ventured to say, “Man proposes, but God disposes.” On hearing that remark, Napoleon replied, “I propose, and I dispose.” His pride, however, proved fatal. Using one of His tiniest, most fragile creations, the snowflake, God brought the proud general to his knees. Bogged down in heavy snow, Napoleon ordered a retreat. His army of 600,000 men was decimated, with fewer than a 100,000 making it back home again. Ultimately, this disaster weakened his armies and brought about his final defeat in 1813.

Napoleon learned what King Nebuchadnezzar also had learned. When God wills it, no one can stop it. After recovering from his seven years of madness, a much humbler king of Babylon declared, “No one can restrain His hand.” Even though they led mighty armies and conquered many lands, both of these proud men discovered that God does what He desires and no one says to Him, “What have You done?”

No matter what man proposes, it’s God who disposes.

All of my life; there has been a spiritual door in front of me. All I had to do was open it.   The same thing applies to you.  God is saying that He is not only standing at the door but He’s knocking. He says that if you hear HIs voice, He’ll come in  and share a meal with you and be friends with you according to The New Living Translation!

Wow…what a promise and yes…it is that simple.

At our house when someone knocks on the door…even though we can all hear the knocking everybody sort of sits around and waits for someone else to get it.  It is as if there is no urgency.  Many times  people do not hear the knocking…maybe the television is too loud, or the air conditioning drowns out the sound or people may be sleep.

I can assure you that the same things happen with people.  Too often they do not hear God knocking at their door.  On the other hand, there are those people who do hear God and they come running.   We are all speaking Spirits.   I just want to encourage you today…that if you found your way here to read this and you do not know God or have a personal relationship with Him…or if you can’t be sure where you’d go if you were to leave this earth tomorrow…that you would stop and say a prayer and ask God to allow you to hear Him when He calls you.

But…the bible literally says this will be the case for every person who walks this earth as human.  We cannot live forever…on the earth.   But, what is important is how we will spend our eternity after we depart from this life.

There are funerals and Homegoings each and every day…and no matter how fabulous the celebration may be…that ceelebration cannot put a person in heaven or hell…it is decided long before that.  It is up to each of us.  We have the final say in how we will live our eternity. Please think about and pray about this if you have not made a decision on this.

Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

James 4: 14

My mother did not go to church very much when I was a teen-ager.  She was still young herself.  Furthermore, her mother had not taken her to church because her mom had been sick during my mother”s formative years.    God healed my grandmother and she spent the remainder of her life serving Him.

My mother worked two jobs at a time when we were growing up and she simply wanted to be able to sleep when she got home…yet, I will proudly exclaim that she was a loving mother who sent us to church.  She reinforced biblical principals in her words and actions.  She gave us great love…and I am not only Blessed by the experience…but I am also thankful.

She pointed me to salvation…and I’m so grateful!

Please take out some time to reflect on the mothering people that are or were in your life.

I make a special tribute to the many mothers and grandmothers, aunts, friends, sisters, cousins who have so humbly accepted the mothering role without fanfare.  So many have left and give legacies of faith, wisdom, confidence and inspiration and I joyfully salute them all!

In this story, you will find that loving God or favoring or believing in Him is not enough.  He sent His Son to die for us.  He has a plan for each of our lives and it would be a shame to miss out on that plan.

I love the fact that the bible describes the trials and challenges that God’s people faced in the wilderness because I too was once in the wilderness.

That was when I stepped away from the church.  I wasn’t leaving God…I was just leaving a place that I wasn’t equipped to deal with at that time.  I learned so much there, but when the going got tough…I left.   I honestly don’t know if I was wrong because my heart was heavy and I needed more.  I just did not know how to go about getting the spiritual food that I needed.  It was there and the people were sincere, but I left quietly. There was a lot going on in my life and yet…I chose to be in the wilderness.

I was trying to to find my way back…but the devil provided so many distractions that before I knew it…I had forgotten about getting back.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

But God had a better plan.  You  see one day inside my hallway…I heard a voice telling me to go to college and the college turned out to be a Christian College which ultimately changed my life and led me back to God and to a great assembly of worshippers and people who wanted to know more about God.   It was Blessed!

It would have been a shame to have missed out on the journey that God had planned for me!

When I was born, my family celebrated…but there wasn’t in truth much to celebrate.   You see, I was born into a life of hopelessness, of sin.  Every man has a sin nature and is destined for hell when they set foot upon this earth; whether born in royalty, wealth, poverty or oppression, in health, in sickness…whatever race, whatever ethnicity.  It doesn’t matter who your earthly parents are…it doesn’t matter what the color of your skin is or the size of your bank account or how well you dress, or talk or can persuade people.

You must be born again!

Man’s very nature is sin…he cannot help it and that sin will take him to hell no matter how good, how nice, how kind…he or she cannot help it…there must be an atonement for man’s sin and it is a high price that has already been paid by Jesus himself.

The price that Jesus paid when he died on the cross saved us from judgment and from spiritual death.  WHY SPIRITUAL DEATH IS VITAL TO US?   It is because we are all spirits…we live in a body which is the seat of our soul, our will, our emotions.  We are spirits living in a mortal body….a body that will one day wear out…but God’s intention is for us to live on forever.

You see…the price of sin is death of man ; any man who has not had that price paid.  Any man who has not had that sentence commuted.

The world defines Salvation as:  Preservation or deliverance from destruction, difficulty, or evil.

Christianity defines it as:

Deliverance from the power or penalty of sin; redemption.

Salvation interpreted came from the Greek VERB :  Sozo….it is a word of action which means:

to make new,  to protect, to preserve, to heal to save,  to love, to make joyous, to have control,  to worship, to be made pure…everything good that comes from God.

God wants to make you anew.  He wants to protect you.  He wants you to be preserved.  He wants you healed.  God wants you to be saved.    God loves you.  God wants you to have continuous joy.  God wants you to be whole in every way with nothing missing, no deficiencies.  God wants you to have control.  He wants you to worship.  He wants you to have everything good…His best.  This is salvation and if anyone has told you different…they have not understood His plan for your life.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

It’s not a quote that can be attributed to anyone.  It’s more or less an expression of society that has been passed down.

But,…the funny thing is …it is true

I know a lot of good people.   I know of a lot of people doing good …but that’s not the criteria for getting into heaven.
